护栏钢模板的范围非常广泛，护栏模板是众多护栏模具的统称词，比如高铁建设使用的护栏就是防护栅栏模板，而高速公路建设使用的护栏则是防撞护栏模板，两种模具不是同一类的。按照当前工程使用的护栏模板，总体分为防护栅栏模具与防撞护栏模板；一种是由统一的规格，高度1.8米与高度2.2米两种组成，主要就是塑料模具；另一种也叫隔离墩模具，是钢模板，而且生产方式分为预制与现浇两种。护栏模板根据不同的规格，不同的施工领域，不同的建设要求，所要求的材质与形状都是不同的。

箱梁钢模板由于断面呈箱型，因此得名箱梁。箱梁一般由外模和内模组成，内外模结构不同。预制箱梁由于预制方便，刚度大，承载能力强，因此使用广泛。
